Benzodiazepines contain a class of treatments frequently prescribed for the relief of nervousness. Frequently prescribed benzodiazepines include Tavor, Valium, Rivotril, and Ativan. Each of these medications acts on the central nervous system to enhance the effects of a neurotransmitter called GABA.
